Saw this posted today by someone on the OVGA Facebook page. Jeff Remmer's cover art for Dinosaurs for Hire for the Sega Genesis.
It was originally used as the cover of a comic book, then Sega reused it for the Genesis game, AFTER they edited out that pesky cigar of course. "Anthropomorphized dinosaurs spraying hot automatic lead at everybody is cool, but I'll be DAMNED if I promote tobacco use!" - a Sega big cheese type person probably
*Added this awesome homage by Giorgio Comolo.
I always knew this Nick Fury cover by Jim Steranko (1968) was influenced by Salvador Dali’s famous painting, The Persistence of Memory (1931), but it looks like it was also inspired by this DC cover by Jim Mooney (pencils) and John Giunta (inks) from 1948. Note Dali’s face on the clock sneering down at Robin.
